  2. 02Construct the portfolio
  3. 03Check the handover
  4. 04Define operating rules

What you will learn

Combine strategies

Check correlations and shared drawdowns before combining individual strategies into a portfolio.

Set sizes and limits

Justify selection and position sizing against criteria set in advance and document the sizing plan.

Organise operations

Establish handover, comparison, monitoring and replenishment, with rules for stopping and replacing strategies.

Continue independently

Maintain an operating handbook and apply the workflow to a new case. NinjaTrader is an optional extension to the MT5 path.

What you need to know

  • You have reached the Own Test Workflow milestone in FOUNDRY.
  • You can justify individual strategy tests and document the comparison on demo.
  • You work with a collection of tested strategies and their supporting test records.

Learn operations on a demo account.

  • Learning tasks use a demo portfolio. They do not require a capital deposit.
  • A clearly labelled practice collection supports the learning path if your own collection is not yet sufficient.
  • NinjaTrader is an optional extension outside the required path.

Your learning path

Prepare handover and continuous operation

  • Write down risk limits and intervention and shutdown rules before starting.
  • Deepen your MT5 skills and compare the portfolio with its backtests.
  • Set up VPS operation and restart procedures and recognise common failures.
15

Monitor, compare and replace

  • Keep an operating journal and compare actual executions with the backtest.
  • Stop strategies according to your rules and use a prepared reserve collection.
  • Analyse the collection in QuantAnalyzer and document the replenishment cycle.
16

Adapt your own building blocks

  • Read and build strategy rules in AlgoWizard.
  • Modify supplied snippets and building blocks in Code Editor.
  • Adapt a supplied metric and check that its filter works as intended.
17

Your operating handbook and the next case

  • Bring requirements, tests and operating rules together in a handbook.
  • Find contradictions, isolate faults and work through a new case independently.
  • Apply the workflow in an optional final project.
V1

NinjaTrader and futures, optional extension

  • Explore NinjaTrader as a second execution path after the Portfolio in Operation milestone.
  • Examine futures contracts, rollover and continuous data series.
  • Check exports from StrategyQuant X to NinjaTrader and identify incompatible building blocks.

How you learn

STARTER demonstrates the workflow in videos. The paid courses combine recorded video lessons with learning materials and self-checks. You learn at your own pace. Individual coaching and live classes are outside the course scope.

Frequently asked questions

Can I start directly with ARCHITECT?

The course requires the Own Test Workflow milestone from FOUNDRY. You should be able to test individual strategies and document their comparison on demo.

What does ARCHITECT add to FOUNDRY?

Portfolio selection, correlation and position sizing, plus handover, monitoring, shutdown, replacement and replenishment.

Do I need to deposit real money?

No. Learning tasks and records use a demo portfolio. A capital deposit is not required.

What if I do not have enough suitable strategies?

A supplied and clearly labelled practice collection can support the portfolio and operations tasks. The selection rules are not relaxed.

Are NinjaTrader or futures required?

No. NinjaTrader and its futures-data workflow form an optional second execution path. The required path uses a demo portfolio in MetaTrader 5.

Does the course cover running a VPS?

Yes. The curriculum covers VPS operation, restarts and common failures, together with monitoring and intervention rules defined in advance.

Your next step

Once you understand the workflow yourself, AI can assist with selected tasks. AUTONOMY shows how to check sources, outputs and repeatable steps.
